Frozen food distributor Central Foods welcomes strong foodservice figures
Figures show that GB out-of-home spend to the year ending November 2016 was up, at £53.46 billion, which represented a 1.1% growth in OOH visits over the year.
According to global information company the NPD Group, it was the third consecutive year that the sector had recorded an increase in OOH visits.
“The continued growth in OOH visits is excellent news for the foodservice sector, which continues to offer good quality, and varied, food and drink,” said Central Foods managing director Gordon Lauder. “Consumers love eating out more than ever, and, as frozen food distributors who supply a wide range of products to a huge variety of foodservice operators, we’re delighted to see the popularity of OOH visits increasing.”
The NPD Group listed the track record of changing menus, investing in the future and doing all they can to understand their customers as some of the reasons that foodservice operators are expected to continue doing well.
