Frozen food distributor Central Foods has boosted its range of flavoured wraps for foodservice with the launch of a new spinach flavoured wrap.
The KaterBake spinach wrap joins the popular pumpkin wrap and beetroot wrap, as the appetite for wraps, rolls and street food-style, grab-and-go items all continue to increase.
“Our KaterBake pumpkin wraps and KaterBake beetroot wraps have been a great success with foodservice professionals, for their taste, looks, appeal and versatility,” said Gordon Lauder, MD of Central Foods.
“We have now extended the range of wraps offered by Central Foods to include the KaterBake spinach wrap – a vibrant 12inch flavoured wrap which will provide a colourful addition to the menu.”
“All three flavoured wraps are suitable for vegans and vegetarians and provide a source of fibre.”
The launch comes as it was revealed that wraps and flatbreads are now two of the three most popular lunchtime options in Britain. Consumers favour them over traditional sandwiches, according to the survey by Spitalfields Market.
“There’s very good reason why wraps and flatbreads are so popular now,” added Gordon. “Not only do they provide a really tasty carrier for a world of flavours, they are also versatile, easy to prepare and can be served at a range of meal occasions, whether that’s breakfast, lunch or dinner…or any time in between.”
Just like the other KaterBake flavoured wraps, the spinach wraps can be defrosted and served, or warmed in an oven or microwave before serving, and have a defrosted shelf-life of two days. They are available to order in two packs of 20.
