It is estimated that 1 in 100 people in the UK have coeliac disease; however, only 30% of people with the condition are clinically diagnosed.*

With Awareness Week again this year, Coeliac UK is emphasising the importance of diagnosis and is asking everyone to spread the word to help reach people who might not know their symptoms could be undiagnosed coeliac disease.

There is no cure for coeliac disease; the only treatment is a strict gluten free diet. If a gluten free diet is not followed, the disease can lead to nutritional deficiencies and other health complications.

Central Foods has been working with Coeliac UK since 2009 as part of its pledge to source and supply free-from foods for the foodservice market.
