Central Foods launches vegan, gluten-free pumpkin cheesecake
Especially perfect for Autumn, Halloween and Christmas menus, the show-stopping Menuserve cheesecake is ideal for all diners…not just those with special dietary requirements.
“Adding savoury flavours to sweet products is a popular trend in the foodservice sector, and with cheesecake remaining in the list of top ten desserts since at least 2008, according to BFFF/Horizons Menurama, caterers can be confident this new, on-trend variation will be a hit with customers,” said Central Foods MD, Gordon Lauder.
“Our delicious - and unique - pumpkin cheesecake provides a superb dessert item to serve in any foodservice or hospitality outlet.”
Pre-portioned into 14 and already meeting Public Health England’s 2020 Sugar Guidelines, the new cheesecake is made with rich and creamy vegan cream cheese blended with 15% pumpkin purée, gently spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg on a crunchy gluten-free biscuit base, all topped with a crown of dark muscovado sugar and biscuit crumb.
It is part of the growing range of gluten-free and vegan desserts offered by Central Foods, one of the UK’s leading frozen food distributors to the foodservice sector.
“The beauty of serving a gluten-free, vegan cheesecake is that it will appeal to all diners, not just those with dietary requirements, and will help to avoid menu proliferation,” added Gordon. “It also means that venues and establishments are less likely to be caught out by unexpected customer demands if they have vegan, gluten-free desserts on the menu.”
Ideal for hotels, cafés, garden centres, business and industry caterers, care homes, universities and other foodservice outlets, a slice of the Menuserve pumpkin cheesecake defrosts in just two hours in the fridge and has a defrosted shelf-life of three days, chilled.
Central Foods, based at Collingtree, near Northampton, is a leading foodservice supplier, supplying more than 400 different lines into foodservice, ranging from vegetarian and free-from items, meat products, bakery items and canapés through to buffet products, desserts and puddings.
